My name is Mariam, and I was born and raised in Egypt. Since childhood, I have enjoyed reading, learning, reflecting, and volunteering to help others. These interests inspired me to pursue a career in medicine, a profession I deeply admire because it is centered on caring for the most precious thing in the world: human life.

What I find most meaningful about medicine is the opportunity to connect with people and understand their unique stories of hope. Whether it is geriatric patients trying to maintain their quality of life or brave children fighting disease, I value the opportunity to help transform suffering into healing.

I am excited to begin my Family Medicine residency training at Saint Joseph’s and look forward to serving my community with compassion and dedication.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy baking, arts and crafts, solving puzzles, and walking in nature. I find peace and inspiration in the beauty of trees, open skies, and scenic views, which help me maintain balance and perspective.

Dr. Cherry was born and raised in Muscat, Oman, and is the first physician in his family. He earned his medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Wardha, Maharashtra, India, and subsequently completed postgraduate training in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care (2019–2022) during the COVID-19 pandemic. During residency, he served as a class representative, acting as a liaison between residents and faculty while developing leadership and communication skills in a demanding clinical environment.

Following his postgraduate training, he gained additional clinical and research experience in the United States as a Medical Assistant and Research Coordinator while completing clinical externships in Primary Care and Cardiology.

Dr. Cherry brings a global perspective shaped by his experiences across diverse healthcare systems and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Malayalam. He is passionate about Family Medicine, particularly preventive care, continuity of care, and building long-term relationships with patients. His professional interests include Hospital Medicine and Pain Medicine.

He is excited to begin his Family Medicine training at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in New York. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring different cuisines, and traveling.

Dr. Priscilla Chikowore was born and raised in Zimbabwe, where she earned her medical degree from the University of Zimbabwe. Prior to residency, she practiced as a General Practitioner in both Zimbabwe and South Africa, gaining experience caring for diverse patient populations across a wide range of clinical settings.

Her professional interests include women’s health, chronic disease management, and preventive medicine. She is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care and values the long-term relationships that family medicine fosters between physicians, patients, and their communities.

Dr. Chikowore was drawn to Family Medicine because of its broad scope, continuity of care, and unique opportunity to address health disparities while caring for patients across all stages of life.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys crocheting, traveling, and exploring different cultures and perspectives.

Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Brandon developed a strong connection to his community at an early age. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he pursued work as an EMT in Yonkers and the Bronx, where he cared for underserved and vulnerable populations. These experiences deepened his understanding of healthcare disparities and strengthened his commitment to serving those most in need.

During medical school, he continued this mission by volunteering at a student-run free clinic, providing care to uninsured and underserved individuals. These experiences further solidified his passion for Family Medicine, where he hopes to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients while delivering compassionate, accessible, and patient-centered care.

Outside of medicine, he is very close with his family and friends. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, trying new foods, going on runs, watching movies, and listening to music.

Fardin Hyderi was born in Queens, New York, and pursued his medical education at Bangladesh Medical College in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the country’s first private medical college. During medical school and his early experience practicing as a licensed physician in Bangladesh, he developed a strong passion for preventive medicine, continuity of care, and building meaningful long-term relationships with patients. Working in resource-limited settings provided him with valuable insight into adaptability, compassionate care, and patient-centered medicine.

After returning to New York, Fardin continued his clinical journey through outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities while also mentoring international medical graduates through USMLE tutoring and educational content creation on YouTube. Supporting IMGs throughout the residency journey has remained one of the most rewarding aspects of his career.

As a Limited Permit Provider with The Partners Care, he was promoted to Clinical Supervisor within three months and eventually helped oversee care across six nursing facilities throughout Queens and Long Island while mentoring and training new providers. He is also passionate about research and has contributed to multiple published medical research projects.

Fardin chose Family Medicine because of its emphasis on preventive care, continuity, and long-term physician-patient relationships built on trust, compassion, and integrity.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his spouse and family, making music together in their band, playing multiple musical instruments, fitness, cooking, and community outreach. He also has a strong passion for animal welfare, particularly community cat rescue and TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs.

Born in the United States and raised in the Dominican Republic, Jeludys brings a multicultural perspective and a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. She is an international medical graduate with a passion for Family Medicine, preventive care, and women’s health.

Throughout her healthcare journey, Jeludys has gained valuable experience working as a telemetry nurse in the United States and as a physician serving communities along the Dominican Republic–Haiti border. These experiences strengthened her cross-cultural awareness and deepened her commitment to caring for diverse and underserved populations. She values patient advocacy, preventive medicine, and building meaningful relationships that empower patients through education and compassionate care.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Jeludys strives to foster trusting connections with patients and families from all backgrounds.

Outside of medicine, Jeludys is a proud mother of two daughters. She enjoys traveling with her family, exploring new cultures, discovering new coffee shops, and practicing Pilates.

Soniya was born and raised in India, where she developed an early aspiration to pursue a medical career in the United States. She obtained her medical degree from Government Medical College Kozhikode and commenced her professional career in rural primary health centers, serving medically underserved populations while gaining extensive experience in primary care and medical procedures.

She subsequently relocated to Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates, where she served in the Family Medicine departments of several corporate hospitals, further broadening her clinical expertise and experience across diverse healthcare environments. Throughout these professional transitions, she remained dedicated to her long-standing goal of practicing medicine in the United States.

Following her migration to the United States in 2024, Soniya worked as a limited permit physician in New York, providing healthcare services to medically underserved populations in the Bronx. Her professional interests include women’s health and geriatrics, and she is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Having had the experience of working in different countries has given her the opportunity to care for people from diverse populations.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Soniya values spending quality time with her family and enjoys painting, handcrafting, singing, and dancing.

Karina was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where she developed an early commitment to pursuing medicine and serving her community. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Central del Este.

Her medical journey began in the United States Army, where she served as a combat medic and physical therapy technician. Providing support in high-pressure and resource- limited environments strengthened her clinical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to compassionate medicine.

Before joining St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Karina participated in advanced research training, where she was involved in studies focusing on pediatric and obstetric patients living with HIV, as well as oncology populations. She also developed a strong foundation through years of outpatient experience in rural communities. These experiences deepened her appreciation for continuity, prevention, and the importance of building trust with patients and their families.

Motivated by her background and values, she is committed to serving underserved communities, with a focus on prevention, education, and whole-person health. She hopes to continue growing as a family physician dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of her patients. In her free time, Karina enjoys spending time with her family, staying active through fitness training, and participating in community service.

Anitha was born and raised in Tamil Nadu, South India. Her passion for medicine began after witnessing her grandfather struggle with illness and limited access to proper medical care.
Watching someone she loved suffer inspired her to become the first doctor in her family and pursue medicine with a desire to make healthcare more accessible.

She completed her medical degree at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Coimbatore and later pursued a fellowship in diabetology. Before moving to the United States, she worked as a primary care physician and diabetologist, caring for patients in rural, suburban, and urban communities in India. Dedicated to preventive medicine, she organized rural health camps focused on women’s health awareness and diabetic screening and participated in FM radio programs to promote health education in underserved communities.

Outside of medicine, Anitha enjoys cooking South Indian dishes, gardening, volunteering at her local Hindu temple, dancing with her daughters, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Segovia earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from City College of New York. He subsequently worked in several healthcare-related jobs that further strengthened his passion for medicine and patient care. Most recently, he worked at a pediatrics clinic where he was part of a team deeply committed to supporting children and their families with compassion, empathy, and enthusiasm.

He is also passionate about building meaningful relationships with patients and promoting lifelong health and wellness within the community. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking, fishing, going to the gym, and spending quality time with family and friends.

He is excited about beginning the residency training in Family Medicine and looks forward to serving diverse patient populations through comprehensive and compassionate care.
