HARRISON, NY (May 2024) St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester, a division of Saint Joseph’s Medical Center recently held its annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon on April 25th at the hospital in Harrison.

The 2023 Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to John LiVoisi. Joining the hospital’s team of volunteers in October 2020, LiVoisi has played a significant role in the hospital’s Outpatient Addiction Recovery Services (OARS) Department. Last year, he volunteered more than 650 hours for the hospital.

“John is a familiar face in the halls of St. Vincent’s, and he embodies what it means to give selflessly. We are extremely grateful for all that he continues to do for St. Vincent’s Hospital,” said Bernadette Kingham-Bez, Senior Vice President and Executive Director of St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester. “Treating everyone with great respect and kindness, John has become a tremendous asset to the OARS team,” she added.

A resident of Yonkers, LiVois earned a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the College of New Rochelle with a focus on Gerontology.

The hospital also honored 29 volunteers with hours of service ranging from 100 hours to 600 hours. Fourteen volunteers received special recognition for years of service ranging from 6 years to 20 years. St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester has an active volunteer team of 75 and growing.

“We are very fortunate to have a large group of dedicated people from our communities who give us thousands of hours each year to help our staff and patients. Your selfless service makes a tremendous difference in the lives of many, and you are truly appreciated. One of the important reasons why St. Vincent’s can help so many people is because of the support you provide to our programs throughout the hospital,” said Michael J. Spicer, President and CEO, Saint Joseph’s Medical Center.
