Huma Haq, DPM

Huma Haq, DPM

Dr. Huma Haq is from Massachusetts, by way of the DMV. She first realized her vocation for healthcare and public health during college when she volunteered at local hospitals and free clinics in underserved areas. Her passion for helping underserved communities lead her to tutor and teach young high school students in Washington DC before starting her journey in medicine.

Dr. Haq’s clinical rotations helped solidify her passion for racial healthcare disparities, providing comprehensive care and bedside manner. Dr. Haq plans to use her training to continue to learn about Podiatric surgery and to advocate for patients.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with loved ones, karaoke, making people laugh, going to comedy shows and dog sitting.

Paul Amissah, DPM

Paul Amissah, DPM

Paul Amissah grew up in Ghana and immigrated to the United States in 2008. Dr Amissah holds Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and Master of Biomedical Science from Touro College. Dr Amissah spent some time teaching math and science in high school before pursuing medical degree at the New York College of Podiatry medicine. His interest in medicine stemmed from being an athlete all his life. Dr Amissah grew up dreaming of becoming one of the best soccer players ever. His interest in medicine became more robust during one soccer game when one of his teammates sustained an ankle fracture. The Podiatric surgeon who performed the surgery changed everything. This experience opened his eyes to the profound impact Podiatrists can have on patients’ lives in the field of medicine and surgery. Apart from his professional pursuits, Dr Amissah embraces an active lifestyle. Additionally, he finds joy in helping people. What brings him uttermost joy is being able to create business opportunities for his people in Africa and teaching children in Sunday school about the word of God. His passion to create jobs for people has led Dr Amissah opening a restaurant in his native country in Ghana. Dr Amissah dreams big and his current project involves creating a mobile parking application which is still in progress. Park4Me LLC aims to help people find parking using google API and sensors to detect empty parking spots. Dr Amissah aims to contribute his quota not only in the medical field but in the general population as well.

Annika Jain, DPM

Annika Jain, DPM

Dr. Jain was born and raised in India. After graduating from a prestigious medical school in India before moving to the US. After a year of general surgery residency in the United States, she realized that she had a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of the human foot and ankle, leading her to pursue podiatry. She knows that the invaluable experiences she has gained along the way has equipped her to adapt, persevere, and maintain an unwavering commitment to patient care. Dr Jain continues to fuel her passion for medicine and pays it forward by tutoring students for the USMLE licensing exams and other standardized tests in medicine. In her daily life, she finds joy in simple pleasures like savoring a cup of exquisite tea and engaging in heartwarming conversations with friends, as well as indulging in a nice bowl of vegetarian food. Furthermore, she takes delight in planning and budgeting for activities, such as travel. In essence, she finds fulfillment in every aspect of her life and is thrilled to be part of the Saint Joseph’s team.

Ashley Aziz, DPM

Ashley Aziz, DPM

Medical School: New York College of Podiatric Medicine at Touro University

Dr. Ashley Aziz is a recent graduate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine at Touro University. Before that, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences at Touro University and Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Manhattan College. She is a driven and hardworking native New Yorker with a deep rooted passion for giving back to the community that helped shape her.

Her professional interests include clinic duties, especially wound care clinic, which she feels is the most fulfilling and rewarding part of being a Podiatrist. In the OR she has a profound love for rear foot cases including mechanisms of injuries and surgical repair.

Outside of work, her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and simply enjoying the little things in life that contribute to her overall success and growth as a woman in medicine.

She’s excited to join the Saint Joseph’s Medical Center family and to be a part of its Podiatry Residency team!

Anjali Vettom, DPM

Anjali Vettom, DPM

Medical School: Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine

Dr. Anjali Vettom is from Tappan, New York. She attended SUNY New Paltz for her B.S. in Molecular Biology. She then graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Her desire to become a physician came at a young age when her father got diagnosed with Diabetes. What furthered her decision to become a Podiatrist was her passion for dance. She has been dancing for more than 20 years with classical Indian dance training and has also become an Indian dance teacher and choreographer. Like most athletes, without proper care of her feet, she would not be able to do what she loves most.

Dr. Vettom aims to provide comprehensive care to her patients for them to achieve their goals. Whether the goal is to be able to walk to the bathroom or run a marathon, Dr. Vettom plans to use her training to make sure her patients can continue doing what they love.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cat, eating at cool restaurants, traveling, spending time with friends and family, watching a good show, and of course, dancing.
