St. Vincent's Outpatient Mental Health Services

St. Vincent’s Outpatient Mental Health Service provides comprehensive psychiatric care for children, adolescents, adults and seniors at a clinic level of care. Services include psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis, pharmacotherapy, and psychotherapy (individual, group, couples and family). There are specialized tracks for the treatment of clients with co-occurring substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, serious mental illness, and issues involving trauma.

Bilingual services are available for Spanish-speaking adults and children.

Specialized programs include:

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The program serves individuals for whom:

  • traditional clinic level of care is insufficient; this would include both clients who are currently enrolled in clinic level of care, as well as clients ready for discharge from an inpatient setting
  • the intensity of Partial Hospital is not indicated
  • participation in Partial Hospital is indicated, but not acceptable to the individual

The IOP operates three days a week from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and includes individual, group and family therapy, and medication management. For information, please cal (914) 925-5366.

Treatment Services for Co-occurring Disorders

Integrated and evidence-based treatment services are available for adults and adolescents with co-occurring disorders.

St. Vincent’s is among a group of providers in Westchester County offering  ENCOMPASS, a new evidence-based program designed to address the needs of adolescents and young adults with mental health challenges and substance misuse issues. It is estimated that more than 60% of adolescents with substance misuse disorders have a co-occurring mental health problem.

ENCOMPASS offers 12-16 weeks of individual, weekly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational incentives to reinforce abstinence from substance use, and medication management with a psychiatrist if appropriate. Participants in the program have been shown to have significant reductions in psychiatric symptoms and substance use.

The program was developed through collaboration between the harris project, the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health, WMC Health, Family Services of Westchester and the University of Colorado.  A goal of ENCOMPASS is to create an integrated system of treatment for mental health and addiction issues.
